Continued bleeding/cramping after any kind of IUD insertion should be evaluated by your GYN physician, as the IUD can be pushed into the cervical canal, which causes the discomfort. An ultrasound and pelvic exam should determine if the IUD is not in the appropriate position, and may have to be removed.
