See below: Pregnancy is unlikely but not impossible. The pregnancy rate during the first 5 years of use is approximately 1%. The onset of pain and abnormal bleeding shortly after your period suggests a strong possibility of pelvic inflammatory disease. You should be examined ASAP by your gynecologist or go to ER.
