Two weeks ago i noticed i had pinworms and took over the counter pinworm medication and it failed to work, i went in and saw my doctor and he prescribed me albendazole and its been more than 72 hours and it still hasnt worked, any reason for why?

How do you know the medication is ineffective? Do you or your family member still observe the active pinworms at and around the anus at night or you only feel itching and uncomfortable? Albendazole should be effective but you will need a second dose in 2 weeks for a complete eradication.
