Isnt paps more accurate and less invasive if negative each year ? why colposcopy then if both get cervix cells ?

PAP smear may be dependent on how proficient the person doing it however Colposcopy is not usual if all PAP smears have been normal. Colposcopy is obtaining biopsy under visual inspection of the cervix that may look abnormal; and you are right it is more invasive.

Paps are less accurate but less invasive than colposcopy and are just a screening test. Colposcopy is a diagnostic test. If there is an increased suspicion, either because of past history or positive HPV tests, then colposcopy is the appropriate procedure
