My daughter had mri done and it showed severe right sphenoid sinus disease with suggestion of layering purulent material what does it mean. is it serious ? what is the treatment for it ?

It would be prudent to consult an ENT doctor. She will likely need prescription antibiotics. Steam inhalation will help in draining the exudate. The disorder is treatable as it is likely to be a bacterial infection.
