0.5-1 kilogram/week: An overweight but healthy person can aim for 0.5 kg/week weight loss, up to 1 kg/week maximum. If a person is already "healthy" he should not need any drastic weight loss.

Recommend: Slower is better. 0.22 to 0.9 kg per week would be safe. Physicians may direct faster loss of morbid obesity.
