Is a low pulse pressure normal in people with pots? mine often is around 20 mm/hg. i have a diagnosis of pots; is that the likely cause of this?

Young people usually have low pulse pressure. Your systolic pressure is low due to POTS and your diastolic pressure is normal so the pulse pressure is low. As long as your diastolic pressure is less than 80, e.g. BP 96/78 (pulse pressure = 18), you are fine.
