Is augmentin / amox clav better than amoxicillin for strep a? is it effective ?

Strep A is readily killed by any form of the penicillin family of drugs. Use of Amoxicillin is common as it can be taken less often than penicillin & still be effective. Using Augmentin is neither better nor a good idea. It will kill the germ along with many more of the good bacteria in your digestive tract that are always present.
