The cheek near my last tooth on the bottom right is like hard and a bit raised, it used to be worse and painful but its getting much better. is this an infection or what could it be?

I'd consider this an irritation/inflammation rather than an infection. Does that tooth rub up against your cheek or cause you to occasionally bite the cheek? Since it's improving, I'd sit tight, but if it doesn't completely resolve ask your dentist,MD or an oral surgeon to check you.

It could be your wisdom tooth erupting if you still have your wisdom teeth. Your dentist can examine you for a definitive diagnosis.
