A member asked:

Diagnosed with nalfd. all liver functions were normal range except alt of 64. no cirrhosis. ferritin score was 613. upper limit of normal was 275. with a 613 ferritin score, does that signify nash or liver inflammation?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, elevated ferritin is usually an indication of inflammation Wish you good health!
