A member asked:

What is "warm up angina"? does it need to be treated? will it eventually go away as the body adjusts to a higher ischemic threshold? or does it tend to get worse over time?

Warm-up angina is chest pain that occurs during physical activity but improves with rest. It's caused by narrowed or blocked coronary arteries. It needs treatment, it does not go away on its own, and tends to worsen if left untreated. Treatment options include lifestyle changes, medication, and interventions. Consult a doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment.

What are results of your treadmill stress test and any other pertinent testing like EKG,CAC,cardiac catheterization or CT angiography? . Some patients with angina due to coronary artery disease take a sublingual nitroglycerin before allowed exercise. Warm up means backing off after 1st exercising & then gradually resuming& increasing it which does increase ischemic threshold. ASHD can stabilize.
