A member asked:

Hi,i have a question about high alkaline phosphatase, results of alp iso enzyme test: liver 14% within range bone 43% within range intestinal 43% high! tandem r-ostase 37 mcg high should i be concerned about biliary issues? hida scan was negative?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, if you were not fasting, intestinal alkaline phosphatase could have been elevated due to that. Wish you good health!
