A member asked:

Had a lipase blood test done and the results were 98 (reference interval is 14-72). i did not fast before the test. is a level of 98 a cause for concern? if a person does not fast before a lipase test can it affect the results of the test?

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, your result is not a cause for concern. Wish you good health!
