Before he has the surgery have his doctor check him so the Diabetes and HBP is under control and he is ready for surgery. Then the person giving anesthesia will check him to see whjich type is best for him. The surgeon should explain the possible complications before surgery, Most of the time this surgery is free of major complications. Good luck to your Dad
