Folliculitis: What treatment have you had? Topical steroids are not a treatment for folliculitis. Are you sure about the diagnosis. See your dermatologist for evaluation of the rash. Folliculitis can be cultured to see what type of bacteria are present. Both internal and topical therapies are available. The exact diagnosis is important in deciding upon therapy.

Antibiotics: If you have folliculiitis you should persue antibiotics a common cause is pseudomonas especially if you have spent time in a hot tub lately. See your primary care physician.
