Talk to a profession: Generally speaking, self-destructive actions may be deliberate, born of impulse, or developed as a habit. Self-harm is an extreme form of self-destructive behavior, but it may appear in many other guises. Changing destructive behaviors requires trying out new, affirming behaviors to replace them. A therapist will listen without being judgement. Act on it.
