The level is high which may be present in acute or chronic inflammatory disorder. For patient with very high ferritin level and transferrin saturation more than 50%, iron toxicity or overdose is a concern. Iron supplement should be stopped in the presence of vey high ferritin level.

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests.
