Need more info: If you were diagnosed as diabetic, you probably had a high hba1c at some time (>6.5%). Once on treatment with metformin, one would expect the numbers to improve. What did your doctor mean by ok for hba1c? Was it normal (.

Yes: Once a diabetic, always a diabetic is a good rule. She is now a very well controlled diabetic.
