No worry at all. Whitlow occurs almost entirely during initial HSV infection, rarely if ever in longstanding herpes. People are immune to new infection with the HSV type they already have, and therefore HSV is not self-inoculated to new body sites. In addition, with HSV1 (compared with HSV2), you can assume you rarely have active virus in your genital area in absence of an obvious outbreak.
