Happy new year doctors! my friend tested + for covid in december on a pcr test. he received a + pcr test on january 2nd, but he says that he has no symptoms and has been totally symptom free since the end of december. is it safe to be close to him?

No symptoms does not mean covid free. Most people are no longer infectious after day 10. He can always wear a mask.

It would be prudent to wear a mask around him. You may consider getting Covid vaccine or booster if you are already vaccinated.
