M/29 non smoker. have sternum pressure/chest and upper back aches that come and go, and a light cough. had normal ecg done and had a viral infection a week ago. no shortness of breath, coughing up blood, or weight loss. likelihood of lung cancer?

Did you have a chest X-Ray? Lung cancer in your case is very unlikely & heart pathology is also unlikely. . Before attributing your symptoms to anxiety,I recommend having a chest X-Ray & an X-Ray of your upper spine if your physician agrees with this advice.

Cancer unlikely. It is not feasible to provide an opinion without additional history, physical examination may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor to see if you may be depressed. Depression is treatable. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated. Drink more water.
