Take antacid like tums OR mylanta & prilosec OR pepcid at the same time for 1-3 days; when symptom improve, stop antacid and continue with prilosec OR pepcid for another week or two. Prilosec or pepcid does not lower the stomach acid right away so it needs to be neutralized by antacid first. If problem recurs after stopping med, you should see a gastroenterologist for a thorough evaluation.
