No: The pancreas has other functions other than insulin production that are very important (digestive enzymes, production of other hormones, etc). Furthermore, pancreatic surgery is a very high risk procedure that is only performed when the benefits outweigh the risks (a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer).

Bizarre question: Hi. Wow, that's a strange question. No, pancreatectomy in type 1 diabetics is not recommended to prevent the chance of developing pancreatic cancer.

No: pancreas also produces digestive enzymes so you still need.
