Have you been a smoker? Have you had recurrent irritation of your inner cheeks ( buccal mucosa)? Is there whitish discoloration there? It's unlikely to be malignancy, but conditions like keratosis or leukoplakia come to mind. Have your dentist check you or consult an oral surgeon for evaluation & advice.

The symptoms do not appear serious since no sores are apparent. Spicy food/vinegar might be temporarily involved. Listerine kills germs & can be used as mouthwash. If continue see a primary doctor who might give a short term mouth rinse of Nystatin to clear away yeast called Candida and do basic tests to rule out underlying disorders. Zinc taken 50 mg per day is good for these tissues, hair & skin
