Ultrasound is a relatively cheap and quick way to evaluate certain conditions. It uses sound waves to produce an image of various tissues. It is limited in evaluating deep structures and has interference if bone is obstructing the view. It is good for superficial skin and joint issues, as well as large organs. Depending on the issue, shoulder is most commonly evaluated by x-ray and MRI
