I got a blood test done to check the severity of heart trouble i have been having called n-terminal pro-bnp. the result came back 1420. i just turned 35. i had endocarditis when i was 19. my heart hurts. i can't do stairs. how much trouble am i in?

N-terminal pro-BNP (NT-proBNP) is a protein that is produced by the heart and released into the bloodstream when the heart is under stress or experiencing strain. Elevated levels of NT-proBNP in the blood can be an indication of heart problems, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, or valvular heart disease. Normal range up to 300 ng/L.
