Probably not: Levothyroxin is used to treat an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism). If you do not have that condition, the added thyroid medicine can possibly make blood pressure higher. See your fp to discuss whether your thyroid activity is normal, whether any BP med might be causing the swelling, alternatives to eliminating hand/foot swelling.

No: This thyroid replacement medication has no indication for the treatment of hbp or swelling. Hypothyroidism can cause swelling, usually generalized and replacement of low thyroid with this medication may relieve the swelling. Thyroid medication itself could induce hypertension if given in too large doses. It is a therapeutic medication strictly used for thyroid disorders.
