I take trileptol and topomax for epilepsy. are there vitamin supplements i should take w these meds? i don't know what issues they cause.

Calcium, folic acid: Generally, one should take calcium and vitamin d, and folic acid, when on anti-seizure medications. Trileptal can cause low sodium, and topamax (topiramate) can cause kidney stones; it is important to drink plenty of fluids, and add some salt, when exercising in the heat.

NO: With anticonvulsants calcium supplements are sometimes prescribed . Vitamins are not necessary or beneficial.
