In general, how far can my primary care doctor be to prescribe controlled substance ? i take klonopin daily for panic disorder. i am relocating to a new town & my doctor will be 35 miles from me. is that acceptable or will there be potential problem?

Distance between doctor and patient doesn't matter in prescribing controlled drugs. Your doctor must have proper authorization from the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA); and most states will not accept control drug prescriptions if the doctor is not licensed in that state. If you and your doc are in the same state, there should be no problem.
