Ive been taking an ssri & 4mg of klonopin/day for 8 years for gad w/ panic attacks. i recently moved & im trying to find a new doc. everyone i see wants me to begin rapid tapering off of klonopin. is long-term ever therapeutically appropriate?

Hello, how can I safely taper off 0.5 mg Klonopin? I used to take 1-2mg per day for 10 years. Two months ago, I cut down to only 0.5mg but did it so fast that I did experience intense rebound anxiety/panic attacks. I remain on 0.5mg 1x a day. Thanks
