A member asked:

Hi i have hashimotos thyroiditis. my antibodies are in the 300s and my crp is high at 54. should i be concerned about the crp? is it from my autoimmune condition or something else? should i get tested for other autoimmune diseases?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, it would be prudent to follow your doctor's advice about additional testing. Elevated CRP is a non-specific indicator of inflammation. Wish you good health!
