A member asked:

I have hashimoto's thyroiditis. if thyroid hormone levels are normal, but antibodies are still high, is it safe to become pregnant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Okay: Hashimoto thyroiditis by itself is not a contraindication for pregnancy. However, please establish care with a doctor who can monitor your and your prospective baby's health. Some doctors may wish you to take thyroid medication even if the hormones are in the normal range.
