A member asked:

Is there a way to get surgery while avoiding any animal products? for example, if i get a breast reduction, would it be possible to not ask for medication as it is tested on animals? or are some medications necessary for recovery?

You won't get the correct answers for those types of questions. I, myself, could not answer those questions.

Not being treated with animal products is easy, since they are rarely used in medicine. However, almost everything thing has been tested in an animal, or used in veterinary medicine, at some point. The facility that makes your medication would not be the one that did any testing. That would have been done years or decades ago by a research facility. It also has been tested in human volunteers.

Chances are that if you are adamant about avoiding all animal-related products, you will not easily find a surgeon to perform your procedure, as most will refer you elsewhere, as there is no conclusive evidence to exclude your concerns.
