Hi, what are the dangers/risks of someone with schizophrenia on psych meds using alcohol even if only a couple at a time. is this detrimental to their health? does it make the meds useless? thanks?

Basis of Schizophrenia scientifically is on brain chemicals. Alcohol has effect on chemicals in the body including the brain and the interaction of alcohol with brain chemicals is negative regardless of psychiatric illness and there is interaction also with medication that could add up. There is no need for anybody to drink alcohol anyway.
