A member asked:

A psychiatrist at my local mental health agency said that patients with schizophrenia have a higher risk of death from covid-19. is this only true of unvaccinated schizophrenics or those fully-vaccinated as well?

Any chronic illness puts people at higher risk as the underlying problem is generally related to inflammation and inadequate nutrition. Get your vit D level checked and supplement if indicated, eat lots of healthy fruits and veggies, and avoid processed and sugary foods and consider taking a good multivitamin and supplement with essential fatty acids 2 TBSP ground flax seed/d, salmon and walnut

There is a high incidence of preexisting conditions in this population which increase the risk of dying of COVID. The unvaccinated group is at greater risk .
