Might not be bacteri: If the cough is from a viral process then antibiotics won't work and it justs need to run its course. Cough and sinus drainage are the lasts symptoms to resolve after a virus or bacterial infection. Ceftin (cefuroxime) adequately covers the common bacteria causing bronchitis, sinusitis, and pneumonia. It may also be nonbacterial inflammation which responds better to steroids.
