Corn/Callus: A foot doctor can remove the painful corn. He can then determine what is causing the corn to develop and hopefully come up with a plan to prevent it from returning in the future.

Debridement: This sounds like a callus but of course to be sure you need to see a foot doctor who can debride the callus and recommend other solutions. It is never recommended to try to remove a callus at home with a sharp instrument.
