A member asked:

With the increasing demand on urologists and subsequent issues with availability, am i ok with a urology resident performing my simple bilateral orchiectomy?

To become a urologist, they must do these procedures under supervision of a trained urologist. If that is the available surgeon, I see no reason not to do it.

I do not know the rules in U.K But no hospital will allow anyone to do a procedure they do not have the proficiency in doing. Simple bilat. orchiectomy is a relatively simple operation and a trained resident ought to be able to do it. If in doubt ask her/him about their experience. Good luck
