U*R mistaken: Am pretty sure ur referring to glycine.1.5% glycine is used for irrigation during trans-urethral cauterization of bleeding vessels resections of prostate or bladder tumors when using a monopolar electrocautery machine. It non-electrolytic, unlike saline, so does not disperse the electric current away from whatever is being cauterized or cut. Has a physiologic osmolality like saline ; unlike water.
