I ate dry uncooked oatmeal last night. i drank water with it but didn't soak it. have since learned it is not recommended to eat without soaking first. am i at risk for an intestinal obstruction due to eating the oatmeal? slight abdominal discomfort?

Instructions to reconstitute oatmeal or other dry foods are for taste and enjoyment, not health. It's not a health issue.

It is not a medical concern to eat oatmeal without soaking it first. If you notice that causes you problems down the road, you should avoid it, but I would not worry about it at all. Good luck.

You are not at risk of intestinal obstruction. Cooking oatmeal will make it easier to digest. For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.
