There are too many brands of sudafed and nyquil OTC which may contain the same ingredient. If you do not have underlying chronic disease, I do not think it is a big deal if you take double doses of certain ingredient in both drugs. If you have chronic disease such as hypertension, chronic heart problem, etc. you should look at the ingredients inside each OTC product then decide.
