A 28-year-old female asked:
Ana result came back as 1:640 homogenous pattern. anti-dsdna antibodies came back negative. i have a lot of lupus symptoms. if the anti-dsdna antibodies came back negative, does this mean it's likely not lupus? also had tpo antibodies present at 70?

It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without examining you and additional tests. Multiple criteria need to be met to diagnose Lupus. Visit this site for information and talk to your doctor.

There are seronegative lupus cases as there are other autoimmune disorders that will have to be ruled out in this context. A rheumatologist is usually involved early as such conditions are many times hard to diagnose and treat properly.
