You should be able to take solid food soon after you pass gas after surgery. It is always recommended to let your operating surgeon know of your condition after surgery and follow their advice. . Use a heating pad to the abdomen and if you have passed gas you can try a mild laxative. Any other symptom then call the surgeon to let him/her know. Hope you feel better
