I tried 25mg metoprolol extended release and experienced difficulty taking deep breaths. my cardiologist gave it for palpitations but it actually made them worse, and i was also not able to sleep (nightmares) and had more anxiety. am i asthmatic?

Difficulty of taking a deep breath does not mean you have beta blocker induced asthma. Just stop metoprolol for now then call your cardiologist an alternative.
