You should certainly not continue using the oxymetazoline. Dizziness is a known potential adverse effect of this medication. However, elevated blood pressure and arrhythmia are also known adverse effects and may cause dizziness. If your symptoms don’t resolve after a few hours, call your doctor or have someone else drive you to urgent care (never drive when dizzy).

Dizziness may reflect a more serious side effect associated with oxymetazoline, so it’s best to speak with your doctor or urgent care if the dizziness is severe or does not go away. Based on your reaction, it’s a good idea to stop using the medication and avoid it in future.
