Hi last week my sgot was 36 out of 35 . this week it is 9 out of 35 . the sample was in the post for 3 days and in the lab for an extra 2 . could this have caused a false low reading ? my alt was high but all other parameters as expected . thanks?

If you question the accuracy and validity of a blood test outcome, it would certainly be appropriate to ask questions of your doctor and the laboratory responsible for the test results.

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, it would have helped had you provided the actual result of ALT. Wish you good health!
