I have a 10 cm hiatal hernia. i had my endoscopy last week. the hernia is still large but is non complicated. my gi feels im not a good candidate for surgery. i have no significant symptoms. on antacids. should i worry?

There are some concerns but I wouldn't obscess about it. Be aware that a major complication can be the hernia getting stuck in the chest causing significant distress. Avoid straining the abdominal muscles which places pressure on the hiatus hernia. Also don't lie flat after a large meal which can cause regurgitation of stomach contents and potential aspiration.
