A member asked:

Is it normal for tonsils to change shape during teenage-hood?

Tonsils go through a gradual progression during lifetime. They grow faster than the kid doing their work in childhood peaking in relative size at 7-9 when many kids snore as a result. They remain that size while the kid grows, making them relatively smaller by 16. Their pattern of infection and recovery can alter this baseline pattern.

Tonsils tend to regress over time and will be difficult to see unless there's a throat or similar infection going on.
