What is the cutoff number for lh and fsh to classify it has low enough to be considered secondary hypogonadism if testosterone has been tested as low?

Insurance?: Let me guess, your insurance company needs to know before it'll approve your testosterone. For men both lh and FSH reference range are 2-18. You need to be above 18 for both. However, these numbers vary lab to lab. The best way to DX andropause is saliva free testosterone levels. But insurances dont like to cover saliva tests, you may get 50% reimbursement.

Low/Normal: If lh and fsh are low/normal, and testosterone is on the low end, then a trial of Clomiphene citrate or HCG could be done to determine if they are able to increase testosterone levels. If they are...Then it's secondary hypogonadism.
