From minutes to years depending on size and location of bleed, previous functional status and comorbidities, etc. Quality of life may be significantly influenced and the care plan should be discussed with the current medical team.

Intracerebral hemorrhages have maintained a high mortality rate over the years, and taking an anticoagulant medication would cause far more brisk bleeding. Often patients do not survive long enough for hospital admission. In general, taking all causes, one-year survival rate does not exceed 40-50%.
